Motivated to Work at Home

Are You Motivated Enough to Work at Home?

Probably everyone has wanted to work at home at least once in their lives. It really is almost a romantic notion to be "a loner", "forge your own path" or "dare to dream". While all of those things can probably be said about most people who work at home, the truth is no matter how much you love what your doing, or where you do it: work is work.

To work at home requires initiative.

So you want to work at home. Let me just ask you to consider this: do you have it within yourself to get the job done without someone there to check up on you?

That is one of the main reasons people start consider working at home; being your own boss. But with that title comes the responsibility of making sure that the job gets done. That may sound easy but trust me when I say there are days that it is a struggle to do what needs to be done.

Take a day like today; it is a beautiful day here on the farm. I hear the birds singing, the sun is shining and the weather is just perfect for lying in the hammock and reading; but I have deadlines to meet! I'm not paid until the right words are submitted to the right people. My initiative has to be bigger than my desire to soak up the sun, and yours will have to be bigger than whatever your distraction is.

To work at home requires inspiration.

Let's say you have a day like the one I've just described. You are at home and you know what job you have to complete but you just can't seem to get started. You have procrastinated in every way that you could find and still you are not ready to tackle the job at hand. What do you do? Well, if you are serious about working at home for profit, you'd better find a way to inspire yourself to greatness, or at least to action.
